Based in Boston, the Red Sox have made substantial sustainability improvements to Fenway Park. The ballpark has moved to a single-stream recycling solution and instituted a composting system. They also planted Fenway Farms in spring 2015, which grows produce and herbs used in food products prepared at the ballpark. They have secured a partnership with Ørsted to strengthen their commitment to sustainability and explore additional ways to bring green energy to the ballpark. The club announced that 100 percent of the ballpark's electricity consumption for the next two years will be offset with Green-e certified renewable energy certificates (RECs) through the club's electricity supply partner, Engie. The arrangement with Engie was finalized in late 2017 making the Red Sox one of four Major League teams to offset their ballpark energy consumption by purchasing RECs.
